Allow 'select all' in search
L
Liam O'Brien
Sometimes I need to change lots of fields for Data or Insights, or to add or remove a tag from many highlights across projects. Global search allows me to find these items but I cannot perform batch operations on them because I cannot 'select all'.

Hide empty tag groups when searching tags
A
Alex DeWitt
When I use the search bar in the top right of a tag page, most of the tag groups tend to have no matching results, so are empty. Since I have a lot of tag groups, I have to scroll the page up and down every time I do a tag search to see of there are any results and to review those results. This is time consuming. When I merge project tags into my workspace tag boards I can be doing this search and move process dozens of times so it gets really annoying.
I'd like to just seen matching tags, in their groups at the top of the page, and not to see empty groups with no matching tags.

Better searching and filters
K
Karolina Kowalczyk
Hi! I have a suggestion related to filters and search in general.
For example:
1) I choose one filter, for example, Folder A
2) I want to choose specific tag boards -> why do I see tag boards from all of the folders? If you have too many tags, it can be a nightmare to find something (especially if your LOCAL tag boards have the same name.
It would be awesome to see the interaction between the filters; one filter should influence the other.

Hi Pat Barlow very happy to help.
- For example, I might want to search for a particular keyword and then tag all of the highlights with a tag for that keyword e.g. for the name of a competitor. Another example would be to change one of the fields on lots of Data items or Insights, again based on a particular search term or filter criteria.
- I would probably do this once a month
- The request was for a select all feature in the 'Search' part of dovetail

Hello Liam O'Brien! I have a few more questions for you:
- Can you provide a few examples of the types of batch operations you frequently need to perform?
- How often do you find yourself needing to use a 'select all' feature?
- Are there specific areas within the platform where you feel the need for a 'select all' feature is most urgent?

More Advanced Logic for Search & Feed Filters
A
Ashley Churchill
I'd like for somewhat more advanced logic for searching and filtering to be prioritized. This is the one thing i miss about working in EnjoyHQ, as they had really strong advanced logic options.
Currently it's set up so you can only have multiple OR statements or multiple AND statements. There's no way to mix and match, which becomes really challenging to select appropriate filters when working with different artifact types like projects/notes/insights/highlights in 1 search or feed.
For example, I'd like our marketing team to have 1 feed for all relevant data. Some of that might be tagged and various artifact types might be stored in the marketing folder. I can pull all of those in, but I cannot do that AND exclude unpublished insights. This makes the feed messy and limits the utility of feeds for non-researchers using the platform.
This is a really frustrating limitation because the available workarounds require me to completely rework our publishing process or workspace architecture.

Agree, this would be super helpful to have fixed so we have the flexibility we need!

Definitely experienced this as well! I hope they can correct this!

Along these lines, the ability to go to a tag group from global search. I'd like to delete some empty tag groups lingering from across projects but there's no easy way to do this.
