Dovetail doesn't have a memo/note field attached to highlights, like Atlas.ti or NVIVO do; this makes it hard to annotate a highlight with analysis or context (and a tag doesn't carry enough information). Ideally, these would exist as first-class objects.

Short of adding another field/layer to the UI, it would be nice if comments were treated as first-class data objects, and were searchable, listable, and filterable.

In the absence of this capability, I have no way to later find a highlight where a user is experiencing or describing something, but the actual insight lies in my interpretation/analysis of what is going on, which I have left as a comment. Or for finding text passages where interviewees are talking about something without using the "right" words.
